A local Portland operator, not a call center
Chippy started with one machine and one observation: most break rooms are either empty or stocked with things nobody reaches for. We thought a vending machine should feel like a small perk instead of a last resort.
Today Chippy places and services machines across the Portland metro area. It is an owner-operated business, which means one person knows every machine, every location, and exactly what is in it.

No lease, no rental fee, no minimum spend. We earn from sales, so an empty machine costs us, not you.

Machines report their own stock levels, so restocks get scheduled before anyone notices a gap. Anything you flag by text or email gets a reply within one business day.

The things people ask first
Is it really free?
Yes. There is no purchase, lease, rental fee, or minimum. We supply the machine and the product and earn from what sells. If a location does not sell enough to sustain a machine, we remove it at no charge.
How many people do we need?
As a rule of thumb we look for around 30 or more people on site regularly, but foot traffic matters more than headcount. Buildings with visitors, shift workers, or late hours often do well with fewer.
Who sets the prices?
We do, and we keep them in line with a nearby convenience store. If you want a specific item priced lower for your team, tell us and we will look at it.
Do the coolers take cash?
No, and that is deliberate. Card, tap, Apple Pay and Google Pay only. There is no cash box on your property to worry about, no coin jams, and no one asking the front desk for change.
What if something is charged wrong?
Text the number on the door. Refunds are issued within one business day, and every repair is at our expense, never yours. Because there are no spirals or coin mechanisms, the usual vending failures — jams, stuck snacks, swallowed dollar bills — simply are not possible.
Do you offer commission to host locations?
Commission programs are available for higher-volume sites. Mention it when you reach out and we will include the numbers in your proposal.
What does the cooler need from us?
A flat spot against a wall and a standard 110V outlet. The unit is 26.8 inches wide, 26 deep, and 77.5 inches tall, runs at room temperature, and rolls in on casters. That is it.
What kind of machine is it?
An AI smart cooler rather than a traditional spiral vending machine. A card or phone unlocks the door, sensors track what comes off the shelf, and checkout completes automatically within about 60 seconds of the door closing. Six shelves, room temperature, holds snacks and bottled or canned drinks.
